General Conference

Today is General Conference. There is so much that I love about General Conference. Of course it is wonderful to hear the inspired talks of our beloved leaders and to re-energize ourselves to do better for the next few months.

I also love all the memories that come back when I see the pictures of the grounds of Temple Square that they show. We lived in Provo when I was little and would go up for one of the sessions and sit on the grass. When I was in college I was able to get into the Tabernacle for the morning session one time. We came in before the "Music and the Spoken Word" broadcast. Although we were told to be quiet in the interlude between, I remember everyone standing in unison when the prophet walked in (i think it was President Hinckley, but it might have been President Benson) and singing "We Thank Thee O God for a Prophet".

Easter often falls right around General Conference time and I love how beautiful Utah is in the spring. Even more so now that I live in Boston and spring won't be here for another few weeks.

I don't miss too many things about Utah, but I do miss the spring.
