Patriot's Day 2008

Patriot's Day is one of those quirky things about living in Boston. It is a state holiday and is a day to celebrate both the historic events of April 19, 1775 (the shot heard round the world) and the Boston Marathon. Many people get the day off, but alas, I am not one of them.

In the past I have attended the re-enactment of the battle at Lexington Green at 5 AM and gone to cheer on the marathon runners, but this year couldn't take the day off. So instead I celebrated with Patriot's Day ice cream courtesy of Coldstone Creamery. Yum!

Kimball's ice cream opened today too and E thoughtfully dropped by with some ice cream as I had to stay home and wash some dishes and work on my paper.
