This week is the 100th anniversary of the publication of Lucy Maud Montgomery's "Anne of Green Gables" book. There are all kinds of activities on Prince Edward Island to commemorate and celebrate. One of my friends' from work is up there because she is a huge Anne of Green Gables fan.
I read the books when I was a kid and love the movie series that was made in the 1980's starring Megan Follows. I have never been to PEI but would love to go someday.
How fun! I was going to have an "Anne of Green Gables" movie night this summer with the girls. Maybe we will wait until you come out to visit. Do you remember staying up all night and watching those movies? And do you remember how we would rewind the very end part where Anne and what's his name kissed? Did you also know that another series has been made after they are married? I saw it at Julie's house during my trip in April. It is not as good as the first, but still enjoyable to watch and see how their life was during the war.
Shaunda--We would always rewind the end to see if Anne pulled Gilbert in right before the kiss. I think the jury's still out on that one. I would love to see it with you and your girls if you can wait that long. I think I saw the other one a while back--you're right that it wasn't at good, but still interesting to watch.
Brian & I spent about a week there on our honeymoon! The picture brought back memories of this cool walk I took while visiting the Anne of Green Gables house. While there I bought a book about Lucy Maud Montgomery & it was really interesting. :)

That it was of the things I want to do before I die!
Sounds like fun! I was obsessed with the movie and later the T.V. show. Love the pics of Boston. What an interesting place!
