I checked out Stephanie Meyer's The Host from the library last week. I was home sick from work yesterday so once I was tired of resting and watching TV I picked it up. I hadn't expected to be drawn in by it, but it totally sucked me in. I couldn't put it down. Luckily I'm a fast reader so I was still able to finish it not long after my bedtime. It's very different from her Twilight series, but just as good. I really felt for the alien occupying the host's body. I think it was supposed to be the other way around. Please let me know when you have read this book so I can talk to you about it without giving anything away to those who haven't read it.
Also, for the Twilight fans out there check out this article in Newsweek: www.newsweek.com/id/148052

Do you still have it for a while? If so, can I borrow it? :)
Wow-there's a line for this! Eileen asked first but if she reads it before it's due I can give it to you (Cami) then.
I only had to wait about a week, if that, for the book to show up after I requested it at the library, so it might be faster to do it that way.
The article you listed was very interesting. I haven't made up my mind if I want to read the book, "The Host" or not. Your recommendation might just tip the scale though. Is it scary? I thought the Twilight series were frightening at times, and I definitely don't want a scary book while Jaydee is away.
Read it. I saw in an article she has the basis for the host 2 and three in her head, but she doesn't know if she is publishing them. Would love to know your thoughts!
Hope you are feeling better!
Nope, I haven't read it, but do hope you are feeling better
I wasn't scared, but I wasn't scared reading Twilight either. Maybe you'd better wait until Jaydee is home.
