Commuting not so sweet

The cost and time of commuting into Boston has always been my least favorite thing about living in Boston. When I bought my condo last year I found a new route that was reasonable (by Boston standards (not my own)--still about an hour each way) and allowed me more control over my schedule since I avoided taking the commuter rail, but drove to a subway station. This morning I was greeted with the following:
Effective November 15, 2008, parking rates at all MBTA commuter parking facilities will increase by $2.00.
Grr: That's a 60% increase. I can't afford $5.50/day (an extra $40 per month) for parking. Yet I don't have many other options to get into the heart of Boston from the northern suburbs. Taking the commuter rail is very expensive and adds significantly to my commute time. Not sure what to do, but I really didn't want to hear about this today.

I spent 50 minutes on a "delayed" subway last night instead of 15. Very annoying. And, I heard about the parking fee increase which is annoying too!

That's not good, but what are your options? You could always move out here :)

you can almost get a taxi to drop you off there for cheaper!
