Deerfield Houses & Scenery

On Sunday before I left to come back home, I walked around Deerfield and took so many pictures. It is such a beautiful little town in the middle of nowhere. It reminds me of Nauvoo during the off-season, but on a smaller scale. Unlike Nauvoo and Old Sturbridge Village, Historic Deerfield does not represent a single decade or period in time, but spans the time period from the early 1700s to mid to late 1800s.

This is the post office, but it was recreated to look like one of the early  meeting houses.

The rest of the photos are of several of the houses along "The Street". About 1/3 are owned by Historic Deerfield, 1/3 are owned by Deerfield Academy (a prep school), and 1/3 are private residences. The photos below are a mix of all 3, with an emphasis on Historic Deerfield homes. I love the variety of styles that are seen here.
