Marblehead, MA

Yesterday I went to Marblehead for a walking tour of 17th century Marblehead, offered by Judy Anderson. As you know, I love history and Marblehead is one of the most beautiful towns in Massachusetts. We couldn't have asked for a better day--sunny and in the 70s. We were right next to the ocean most of the time. The first hour was mostly about the history and the 2nd hour was more about architecture and how homes changed over time and the reasons why they changed. I was happy that I knew most of the general history of settlement in Massachusetts that she discussed, but I learned quite a bit about the specifics of Marblehead. I'm really glad I went.

The views of the ocean were fantastic and so relaxing.

I love the variety of houses that one can see in New England. Most of these are from the 1700s or early 1800s.

Doesn't this look like a wonderful place to relax?

This one might be an even better place to relax.

 Couldn't call the day complete until I took a quick look around the cemetery.
